Description

Frank Chodorov was a journalist of the Old Right with an extraordinary writing ability. He was also a top-notch intellectual figure who has been tragically neglected. This collection might be his best. Among the smashing essays here are: "Isolationism," which is his defense of the great American tradition (if you have hesitated to call yourself one, you might change your mind), his classic "Don't Buy Government Bonds," his tribute to Westerns, his powerful essays against those who say that the New Testament endorses communism (sounds crazy but...), his blast at the New Deal, his tribute to the peddler, and so much more. His writing is leagues above most of what passes for political writing today. Bring back Frank Chodorov!

Great writer and thinker...
I first stumbled on Frank Chodorov and Out of Step through occasional Mises Daily articles that were excerpted from the book. Each time I read one, I was thoroughly impressed by Frank's clarity and logic. I eventually decided to order the book and read it completely, and let me say that this book is a treat. He has the ability to raise important issues that are still relevant today, while at the same time making you reminisce about the "good old days". I will definitely be ordering the rest of Frank's books as well.

On a side note, I will say that the size of the book is a little awkward. The pages are thick and the text on them has about an inch margin on both the top and bottom, so it would be nice to see this book printed in a smaller, thinner and more concise format.
